Federico Macheda's agent says he expects the Italian striker to remain a Manchester United player next season.
The 20-year-old striker has been as yet unable to fulfil the potential he showed when he scored on his debut against Aston Villa as a raw teenager in 2009.
Still remembered fondly for his late strike that day which helped snatch the title from Liverpool's grasp, Sir Alex Ferguson is reluctant to let him go on a permanent deal to one of several interested clubs in both Italy and England.
Macheda was linked with Benfica and Besiktas in loan moves earlier this summer, but after catastrophic loan stints at Sampdoria and QPR in the past two seasons, he may be better off staying at Old Trafford.
Macheda's agent Giovanni Bia said: "I believe that Federico will remain with Manchester United."
