Enzo Zidane sent off for violent conduct

Zinedine Zidane's son Enzo proved he has inherited some of his dad's famous temper by earning a red card nine minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute for Real Madrid's Under-18s.



The 17 year old, who goes by the name of Enzo Fernández to reduce the pressure of being compared with his father, kicked out at an opponent when they were both on the ground, leaving the Aspire International player clutching his groin.



Enzo, recently linked with a move to Liverpool, made headlines in 2009 with a call-up to the Spain Under-15 side.



His father's famous 2006 World Cup final altercation with Marco Materazzi was recently commemorated by a new bronze statue outside the Pompidou Centre in Paris.

Suarez: Liverpool is home

Luis Suarez has reiterated his desire to remain at Liverpool for a 'very long time' and revealed how the city feels like home.

Luis Suarez took less than 5 mins to score his début goal for Liverpool two years ago. 

The 26-year-old celebrates two years as the club's No.7 today.



Since his transfer from Ajax in January 2011 he has scored 43 goals in 84 appearances and he is the Barclays Premier League's second top goalscorer this season with 17.



Suarez - who signed a new contract in the summer - is eager to keep scoring goals in a Liverpool shirt for many years to come.





"I hope [to be at Liverpool] for a very long time because it's a massive club that kids dream about playing for," the 60-times Uruguay international told Liverpoolfc.com.

On-Form Suarez, scored 21 goals in all competition his season 

"I've been very proud to be at a club like Liverpool and to have made the decision to come here. In two years I've lived through some spectacular and very special moments that I will never, ever forget.



"There have been a few difficult times as well, but with the support of my family, the club and the fans, things have gone well for me.



"I do feel at home here. When I'm out and about, all I get is support and encouragement from the local people and that's very important, and when I come here to the club I feel like people have known me all my life. That also helps a great deal to making me feel so at home.



"I hope to be able to help out the team for as long as I possibly can while trying do something to make the club and the fans very happy."



Suarez was born fourth of seven brothers and learned to play football on the streets of Uruguay's third most populous city, Salto, before moving to the capital Montevideo.



At the age of 11 he had to decline an offer to attend a national team training camp because he could not afford football boots, but he would go on to earn international recognition at U20, U23 and senior level.

So how did his upbringing of street football prepare him for the Premier League?



"I don't know about that!" said Suarez. "It's a massive difference between street football in Uruguay and football in the Premier League.



"I think maybe I did pick up things playing in the street that maybe I wouldn't have learned playing on a proper pitch. They're different cultures and ways of life.



"It was a way of learning football that I do not regret for a minute. If anything, just the opposite. I'm grateful for all I learned there and I've got to where I am today partly thanks to all that."

Coutinho makes Liverpool move

Liverpool have confirmed midfielder Philippe Coutinho has moved to Anfield from Inter Milan on a long-term contract.



The 20-year-old becomes Liverpool's second signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of striker Daniel Sturridge at the start of the month.



Coutinho said: "I'm feeling very happy, it's a very important step in my career and I'm expecting to come here and play good football to give my contribution on the pitch.



"Liverpool is a great club with great players. We've always heard about Liverpool's history in Brazil.



"They are the club that have been interested in me and that have showed this interest so I know they believe in me and my football."



Coutinho, who has one cap for Brazil, began his career at Vasco da Gama before moving to Inter Milan in 2010 - and the player also enjoyed a loan spell at Espanyol.



Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre said: "We're always delighted when we get the players we go after.



"It has been a successful transfer window for us, coming off the back of acquiring Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea and now Philippe from Inter Milan.



"I think that bodes well for us for the rest of the season and the future."

Blackman switches to Reading

Reading have completed the signing of forward Nick Blackman from Sheffield United on a three-and-a-half-year contract.



The 23-year-old, who has scored 14 goals for the Blades this season, caught the eye of Royals manager Brian McDermott during Saturday's FA Cup tie between the two sides.



Blackman, whose fee is reportedly £1.2m, told Reading's official website: "I'm really looking forward to it and I'm very excited.



"I met the gaffer last night, he was fantastic with me and I couldn't have asked any more from him and Nicky Hammond. I can't wait to play - hopefully I can try and get involved as soon as possible."



McDermott added: "We're very pleased to get him. He had options elsewhere but he knows that we try to develop our players and get them better. He's played a lot of games, and has so much more to come.



"He can play in three or four positions - up front, either one of the wide areas and off the striker.



"He's another player that's hungry, wants to learn and wants to improve. His goalscoring record is getting better, better and better every year. He takes set plays, so he's a really good acquisition to the group."



Blackman started his career at Macclesfield before moving to Blackburn Rovers in January 2009.



However he failed to establish himself in the first team at Ewood Park and had loan spells with Blackpool, Motherwell, Oldham and Aberdeen before joining Sheffield United last summer.



Crystal Palace had failed with a bid for Blackman, and Blades boss Danny Wilson admits he could not stand in the player's way once a Premier League club made an offer.



"From our position, it is virtually impossible to hold people back when the Premiership comes calling and this is a great opportunity for Nick," said Wilson.



"He wants to play at the best possible level, we knew that when we signed him, and he goes with our best wishes. He is a student of the game and will keep learning his trade at Reading."

Faurlin set for Palermo switch

Palermo have reportedly agreed a deal with Queens Park Rangers to sign Alejandro Faurlin on loan for the rest of the season.



Palermo made a bid for Faurlin earlier in the window, but that was rejected by QPR.



They have now returned and this time have come to an agreement with the Hoops and look set to sign him on loan with a view to a permanent deal.



Harry Redknapp had insisted he wanted the 26-year-old to stay with the club, but with other players due to arrive before Thursday's deadline - he has sanctioned his departure.



Faurlin, who is anxious to secure regular first-team football, is set to become the third Argentine to leave England for Palermo following on from Mauro Boselli and Mauro Formica - who completed respective moves from Wigan and Blackburn earlier in the month.

QPR's Samba chase annoys Anzhi

Anzhi Makhachkala coach Guus Hiddink has confirmed that QPR target Christopher Samba is on his way to England for transfer talks.



The former Blackburn star joined the Dagestan giants last Ferbruary in a deal worth around £12million.



But now Queens Park Rangers have met and activated his release clause.



Now the player has left the club's winter training camp in Spain, and Hiddink has slammed the player for his decision to quit.



"He left for England yesterday," Hiddink confirmed on Wednesday.



"I hope that today or tomorrow we'll find out what has really happened.



"It's a shame to talk about this but he didn't even say goodbye, he didn't explain anything to us.



"Whatever happens to you in life, you should take into account the people with whom you work with.



"It's not a great situation for us. He started the pre-season camps with us, but then suddenly in the last few days he started to make contact with England, that's despite still being on contract with Anzhi.



"Now we have a new situation. We need to be realistic and see what we can do before the transfer window closes."



An Anzhi club spokesman insisted there was no comment to make, saying: "We don't comment on rumours. All news is posted to our official site."

QPR confirm Yun Suk-Young deal

QPR have have completed the signing of Chunnam Dragons defender Yun Suk-young on a three-and-a-half-year deal.



The 22-year-old was a key member of the South Korean Olympic squad that took bronze at London 2012, before then going on to make his full international debut in October.



Yun has been linked to a number of clubs in recent times, including west London rivals Fulham, but has joined QPR on for an undisclosed fee from K-League side Chunnam Dragons.



The left-back has been granted a work permit and will be eligible to play for the Rs once he obtains a visa.



Yun joins fellow January acquisitions Loic Remy and Tal Ben Haim at Loftus Road, where he links up with countryman Park Ji-sung.



The defender may be the first of several signings before the transfer deadline on Thursday, with Peter Crouch, Christopher Samba and Etienne Capoue amongst those on QPR's radar.

Balotelli move to AC Milan

Mario Balotelli is officially a Milan player after agreeing a four-and-a-half-year contract, completing his move from Manchester City for €20m plus bonuses.



The news was confirmed on Milan Channel, the official club television channel, and he will have his medical on Wednesday.



“Mario arrives tomorrow!!!” read a statement on Milan Channel. “There is an agreement between the two clubs.



“Tomorrow he’ll undergo a medical and after that Mario will sign a contract with Milan until June 30 2017.”



Up until a couple of weeks ago, the price-tag set by City had been €37m, but Milan managed to negotiate it down to €20m to be paid over a six-year period, plus another €3m in performance-related bonuses.



Balotelli himself was crucial in the negotiations, as the lifelong Rossoneri supporter reportedly agreed to cut his wages from €6m net to just €4m.



Italian sources suggest he has already left the Manchester City training camp ahead of tonight's game with QPR and will be in Milan this evening.

Manchester United has become the first sports team in the world with a $3 billion valuation.



Shares of the English soccer team, which were offered to the public last August at $14, did poorly at first but have soared the past few days. Last seen at just under $17, Manchester United’s stock has outperformed the S&P 500 since its IPO and made the controlling Glazer family and legendary investor George Soros, who bought a big stake in the team shortly after it went public, wealthier. The Red Devils are the world's most valuable sports team and have a long tradition of great play on the pitch. Manchester United has captured a record 19 English Premiership titles and claims to have 659 million fans worldwide. Next up for the Red Devils: an IPO on the New York Stock Exchange to reduce debt from Glazer's purchase of the club in 2005.



2. Real Madrid

Value: $1.88 billion

Owner: Club members



Real Madrid had the highest revenues of any soccer team during the 2010-11 season and was the most profitable team in all of sports during 2011, with operating income of $214 million. Club members have owned and operated the team since it was founded in 1902. Real won its record 32nd La Liga title in 2012, led by its star winger Cristiano Ronaldo.



3. Barcelona

Value: $1.31 billion

Owner: Club members



Barcelona has won two UEFA Champions League titles over the past four seasons, riding the golden feet of Lionel Messi (above). Barca's home stadium, Camp Nou, has the biggest seating capacity of top European teams at 99,400. The team's broadcasting revenue of $266 million was tops among all soccer teams in 2011.



4. Arsenal

Value: $1.29 billion

Owner: Stan Kroenke

Arsenal has won the second-most FA Cups (10), just one fewer than Manchester United. Match day revenue of $150 million in 2011 was fourth highest among soccer teams.The Gunners' commercial revenue was $74 million in 2011, but got a boost last season due to new sponsorship agreements with brewer Carlsberg and Betsson, the gaming company.



5. Bayern Munich

Value: $1.23 billion

Owner: Club members



Bayern Munich reached the UEFA Champions League final in May in their home stadium, Allienz Arena, but lost to Chelsea on penalty kicks. Bayern is the most valuable club in the Bundesliga and has the fourth-highest revenues among all soccer teams. Its sponsorship deal with Adidas is worth an average of $36 million a year through 2019.



6. AC Milan

Value: $989 million

Owner: Silvio Berlusconi



AC Milan won the Serie A title for the 18th time during the 2010-11 season, tying them with Inter Milan for the second-most Italian championships, but finished second behind Juventus in 2012. The Rossoneri are the most valuable Italian team, but lavish spending on players caused the team's operating income (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) to decline to $29 million in 2011 from $41 million in 2009. Still, with Audi, Sky Italia, Taci Oil and Emirates as sponsors, AC Milan generated commercial revenue of $133 million during 2011. Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has owned the club since 1986.



7. Chelsea

Value: $761 million

Owner: Roman Abramovich



Chelsea won the UEFA Champions League final in May, despite finishing sixth in the Premier League--the worst finish by any Champions League winner. The club upset Barcelona in the semifinals before defeating Bayern Munich on penalty kicks. Chelsea received $73.1 million in prize money for its victory.

Wenger rules out Villa/Becks

Arsene Wenger is still in the market for new players this week, but neither David Villa nor David Beckham will be joining Arsenal.



Beckham has asked to train at London Colney as he continues to assess offers from clubs in Europe and elsewhere, while Villa has been linked with Arsenal since the transfer window opened.

But Barcelona have consistently said they will not sell the striker this month and, according to Wenger, there is no room for further negotiation.

He said: "Barcelona don't want to sell, they've made that very clear."

As for Beckham, Wenger said: "He has asked to come here and to work on his fitness. He has not done anything for a long, long time.

"It's purely for fitness. There's no speculation about signing or anything."

Asked what Arsenal are getting out of the arrangement, he said: "Nothing. Questions in a press conference!"



There have been no new arrivals at the Emirates this month despite Arsenal's position outside the top four and the departures of Marouane Chamakh and Johan Djourou.

Wenger said: "We are still trying, but it's hard to sign players in January who can improve you."

Paul Scholes car 'stolen'

Manchester United footballer Paul Scholes has had his car stolen after he left its engine running while defrosting the windscreen.

Police said the grey Chevrolet estate had been taken from the drive of his house in Greenfield, Oldham at around 08:00 GMT on Monday.



A police spokesman said "inquiries to locate the car are ongoing".



Scholes is understood to have the car as part of the motor company's sponsorship of the Premier League club.



The spokesman added that Greater Manchester Police had issued warnings about "ice bandits - offenders who target vehicles left outside houses, early in the morning, with the engine running while the owner returns to the house".



"Motorists may be tempted to leave their vehicle with the engine running while they go inside to stay in the warm - however, it only takes a few seconds to steal a car when keys have been left in the ignition," he said.
