Sevilla beat Granada 3-0 on Monday night at the Sánchez Pizjuán stadium and after the game goalscorer Álvaro Negredo spoke to Marca TV about the team's change in fortunes under new coach Unai Emery.
"The mentality has changed, there's more excitement about playing, and the fans expectations have changed too. All these things coming together have helped us improve."
"Yes something has changed about the team," Negredo said.
"The mentality has changed, there's more excitement about playing, and the fans expectations have changed too. I think all these things coming together have helped us improve.
"I don't want to say that what we were doing before [under Míchel] was wrong, every coach has his own methods. Emery has made us get tight on the opposition and press them and force errors. We have been doing that well but we can still improve, winning matches in the league is the most vital thing at the moment."
Negredo also spoke about Sevilla's upcoming Copa del Rey semi-final against Atlético Madrid, which begins with the first leg at the Vicente Calderón on Thursday.
"The semi-final will be special, everyone's really looking forward to it and the fans are even more excited about it, we need to take something positive from the Calderón," he added.
