Fifa Finally Considering Giving Goal Line Technology A Try

According to reports in the Daily Mail, the International Football Association board are set to meet for their annual general meeting and will be discussing a new proposition that could see clubs bringing in an extra sub if the cup matches go into extra time.



The concept will undoubtedly be welcomed by the clubs as it would allow them to have an extra pair of fresh legs at the most crucial stage of the match.



Another proposal and perhaps a vastly more important one that is going to be discussed is that of goal line technology. Although this issue is a highly debatable one that usually polarizes opinions, increasing concerns about some dubious goals costing the clubs matches might see the governing body introduce it for the coming season. Reports in the BBC suggest that the association will make a definite decision on the matter by July.



The Daily Mail also suggests that the association will discuss the use of the vanishing spray, which is used to mark the 10 yard distance during set pieces. The technique was used in the Copa America and would undoubtedly be one of the less contentious issues being discussed.
