RVP 20 Goals trophy - pictures

Robin van Persie was rewarded for his red-hot form at London Colney yesterday when he was presented with the 'First to 20 goals' trophy to celebrate the fact he is the first player in the Premier League to reach 20 goals this season.

The Arsenal captain scored his 20th league goal in the 7-1 defeat of Blackburn at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, before adding two more to his tally to reach 22 in 24 Premier League fixtures this term.

Van Persie was also the first man to reach 10 goals and he did that while scoring a hat-trick in the 5-3 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in October.

Van Persie's 22 goals put him six ahead of Newcastle United's Demba Ba, and seven away from Manchester City's Sergio Aguero and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney.
