There were some worried faces after Sergio Busquets went down with what appeared to be a serious injury just minutes after coming on as a substitute in Barcelona’s 2-1 win over Real Sociedad on Saturday night.
As can be seen from the picture on the left, Busquets suffered a clear and deep cut to his right leg after clashing with Carlos Mertinez but could even be fit for the match with Valencia in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.
The Barcelona medical staff filled in the wound with some stitches and depending on how quickly they heal, Busquets will return to action.
Pep Guardiola said afterwards: “I thought the worst, but it is just a deep cut on his right knee and I think with stitches it look good.”
This will of course add weight to the opinion that Sergio Busquets is a dirty diver and cannot be trusted.
There were many in the Nou Camp fearing some sort of bad news when a black cat ran on to the pitch during the first half of Barcelona’s match with Real Sociedad.
Towards the end of the first half, the black cat made a dash for it down the right hand touchline, showing a fine turn of speed.
