Ederson keen for Lyon stay

Ederson has revealed that he wants to stay at French giants Lyon despite his current deal expiring at the end of the season.

The Brazilian midfielder will be out of contract in June and there has been no indication where the 25-year-old's future lies.

However, the South American has admitted that he is keen remain at the Stade Gerland and wants to put pen to paper on a new contract.

"As I said, I want to stay, I feel good at OL," Ederson told Lyon Capitale.

"I get along well with all players and the coaching staff. My agent is talking with the club to try to reach an agreement. Let's see if I really matter to Lyon."

Ederson has been deployed in a number of different roles since moving from Nice in 2008, and said he is eager to find a position and stick with it.

"I want to know how the club wants to use me. It is important for me. I want to settle in a role that is more natural for me," he said.

If a new contract cannot be agreed upon, Ederson would be free to leave the Ligue 1 side on a Bosman ruling at the end of the season, but that is not something he is entertaining as yet.

"Leaving is not a choice that I am thinking about, for now anyway," he said.
