Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is facing a four-match suspension after being charged by the FA with violet conduct over an alleged stamp on Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker, the FA have confirmed tonight.
The Italian was seen to lash out at Parker with his right foot, striking the midfielder on the head during the second half of City’s 3-2 win at the Etihad on Sunday.
Balotelli must now respond to the charge before 6pm on Wednesday. If City accept the charge, the ban will come in to immediate effect meaning he will be unavailable for City’s Carling Cup second leg against Liverpool at Anfield.
However, should City choose to appeal, Balotelli would be available for the Liverpool tie on Wednesday.
In a seperate incident, ESPN are reporting that Joleon Lescott wont face any action after being seen striking Younes Kaboul in the face with his elbow.
