Injury keeps Gotze sidelined

Borussia Dortmund playmaker Mario Gotze will miss Saturday's clash with Hoffenheim after picking up a thigh injury.

The 19-year-old has been suffering from an adductor problem as of late and coach Juergen Klopp confirmed to Sky Sports News HD that Gotze would take no part in his team's next match.

Gotze missed Dortmund's 5-1 Bundesliga win away to Hamburg on Sunday, in which his deputy, Jakub Blaszczykowski, scored two goals and assisted another.

Goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller also was sidelined due to a back injury, but is expected to return to face Hoffenheim.

Following the weekend's results, Dortmund moved level on points with joint-leaders Bayern Munich and Schalke, with a goal difference of four separating the Bavarians and the title holders.
