Everton are keen on Fiorentina winger Alessio Cerci.
Sources in Italy have confirmed that the Toffees want to take the 24-year-old to Goodison Park on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to make the deal a permanent one if Cerci impresses.
The Merseyside giants are believed to have already found an agreement with Cerci over his wages, but must thrash out an arrangement with La Viola, which could prove tricky.
The former Roma man is understood to be excited at the prospect of playing in the Premier League and has previously attracted interest from Manchester City, where Roberto Mancini rates his talents highly.
Cerci is have trouble finding a spot in Fiorentina boss Delio Rossi’s preferred 3-5-2 formation, though it remains unclear whether La Viola will consent to his departure.
The winger joined Fiorentina for €4M in 2010 after a nomadic loan existence which had seen him enjoy spells with Brescia, Pisa and Atalanta.
Cerci has represented Italy from Under-16 level right through to Under-21 level, though he has yet to win full international honours.
