Robert PIRES and Robbie Fowler are each set to trouser a MILLION DOLLARS for seven weeks’ playing in India.
The Arsenal and Liverpool legends have been recruited for the new Indian Premier League, along with ex-Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo, Bolton hero Jay-Jay Okocha and Liverpool flop Fernando Morientes.
Italy’s 2006 World Cup-winning skipper Fabio Cannavaro has also been signed up.
The six-team competition kicks off on February 25 – and England old boys John Barnes, Peter Reid and Colin Todd will coach three of the clubs.
The aim is to repeat the success of cricket’s IPL, with its global stars and Bollywood-style razzmatazz.
