Everton have completed the signing of midfielder Darron Gibson from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee, according to the club’s official website.
The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international joins on a four-and-a-half year deal and becomes the club’s second signing of the January transfer window following the loan acquisition of Landon Donovan from LA Galaxy at the start of the month.
He will wear the number 4 shirt.
Gibson, whose last appearance for United came in a 5-0 win over Wigan on Boxing Day, will arrive at Finch Farm immediately and could make his debut when the Blues take on Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday.
